The unit of the allowance is a message: one visitor message and the answer produced for it. The number of conversations is an estimate based on the typical length of conversations. The first mate never stops mid-conversation: you get a notice when 80% of the quota is used, and you can move up to a larger plan. Talk minutes are included in the Galleon plan (500 min/mo): the call never cuts off mid-conversation, and an email notification is sent at 80%. Once the voice quota is full, new calls do not start until the next billing period or a plan change — text reception keeps working normally. Overage is never billed automatically.
